In the last 3 weeks 4 people I know have died...

R.I.P. Thomas Melvin Lealand
Thomas was out drinking with his friends and they were driving around and the truck rolled. Thomas was the only one who died. He'd just paid off his truck which he never got to drive. He bought a new jeep. He had a well paying job. He died one day short of his one year anniversary with Breanna. They were getting their own house together around Christmas. But instead she had to plan the funeral of her common law husband at age 16. He was so well loved in this town. His funeral was on
Thursday, September 13. He was 18 years old.

R.I.P. Jared
The day after Thomas's funeral I was told that Jared committed suicide by overdose. I didn't know him very well. I don't even know his last name. But he was at my 16th birthday party when I was heartbroken over a fight with Devon and he cheered me up. He got up on a stool and sang Tiny Dancer for me. I'll never forget that. I only found out last night that it wasn't overdose that killed him. He got mixed up with the wrong people. They poisoned the drugs. They said either he could kill himself or they'd do it for him. So he chose to do it himself. He was in his 20's.

R.I.P. Darren Christoffersen
Darren was riding his motorcycle on Monday night when he hit a deer. He was taken to the hospital and Devon told me in the morning. They didn't think he was going to make it. A half hour later we discovered they were right. His 18 year old son Jarad is planning his funeral. His other son Craig has been in my class since 6th grade. Darren owned his own business. He was the provider for their family. Now we don't know how they're going to support themselves. He was in his 40's.

R.I.P. Tara Kustaski
On Friday night there was a party at Jarad's house in memory of Darren. Tara was there and I was there with Devon till about 11 that night. When we got back into town we went straight to Tapley's house which is 3 houses down from Devon's. We decided to get a fire going for Roger. Devon drank quite a bit and he started feeling sick so we just wanted to go home and get to bed but we didn't wanna just put out the fire. So then around midnight Tara and Tapley showed up. Since there was someone to watch the fire, me and Devon went home about 10 minutes later. Tara and Tapley were out in the car so we just left. We didn't say goodbye. About 4 hours later she overdosed on ecstacy. She died in her boyfriend's arms. She had just moved out and was getting a new job. She had her own car and was about to spend 400 bucks to get her phone hooked up again after her mom cancelled it. She was almost done high school. She was one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. She was 17 years old.

I never thought I'd lose so many people so fast till I was good and old.
I have a feeling there's more to come soon.
I'm scared that Tapley's gonna be next.
I don't want him to die.
I love him too much.
